Shantal + Matt | Wedding

It was a perfect May day (yes, I'm a little behind on getting these lovely images on the blog,) and Shantal and Matt were excited, a little nervous, and both were finally ready to say their I do's. Shantal looked stunning in her Stella York gown and patiently waited to take her fathers arm and walk down the aisle to meet her groom for the first time that day. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception started with a fantastic dinner followed by dancing and a sunset session that still takes my breath away! Shantal and Mathew, thank you for letting me in and capturing your perfect day.

Karla and Jose got married on a bright blue and sunny day surrounded by their closest friends and (BIG) family. The moment I saw her I couldn't stop staring at how gorgeous she looked in the stunning Allure wedding gown. I'm a sucker for two toned gowns as my own wedding dress was also two toned. ;)

They wed at Sacred Heart Catholic church, but before that we hopped on over to Martinez Martinez for their first look and a few shots of them together. I mean, is their building stunning or what?! During mass they had a vocalist who had the most amazing voice that lingered through the church while they all listened the and the bride and groom sealed their vows with a kiss.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Palomarez and many blessings to you both as you begin your new lives as husband and wife.

Rewind to this past spring when the sun FINALLY started showing it's beautiful yellow light in the evenings and we could finally say goodbye to the very long winter of 2017. I was so excited to run around with these two to a few of my favorite local spots and we were able to have a fantastic time and of course get to know each other more before their big day. Kayla and Ryan, I cannot wait for your wedding in the next few weeks! Until then everyone, enjoy these images from their engagement session because soon enough I'll be sharing their wedding photos!

I don't take family sessions usually during wedding season, but I'm so thankful I was able to sneak these guys in. I first met the Vance family when their littlest was just a baby and I've been blessed to capture them once more. There is a sweetness about all of them that is so fun to watch (and capture.) Greg has a special bond with each of his ladies and I think it's obvious through these images how much they love him too. :) Thank you Vance's for having me come along create these images for you.

I don't know where to start when trying to describe this woman. She's one of the purest and most genuine souls I've met. Ever. She has a smile that is so approachable and a heart that extends far beyond just her friends and loved ones. I can't remember the first time I met her, but it was of course work related and I've been able to work with her for several years now. Every single one of my clients that sits in her chair has always commented on how wonderful she is not just as a makeup artist, but as a person. I could go on and on. Really, I could. But I'll just settle here and let the images do the rest of the talking when it comes to how photogenic she is too. ;)

Rising Tide Society

Recently I was invited to join a local group of creatives called Tuesday's Together - Rising Tide Society. It's something our community and culture of entrepreneurs has needed and thanks to Alex from Alex Lasota Photography had the drive to take it on and start one up right here in the Tri-Cities and now also leads with Misty C. Photography. No, it's not just for photographers, It's a "movement for creative entrepreneurs and small business owners built on a foundation of community over competition... is dedicated to providing affordable and accessible education for small business owners." - Rising Tide Society.

Upon my first meetup, I was excited to get to do something outside of my normal job and doing something for "fun." A group of vendors got together to put on a shootout in the snow and these are a few of the shots we got on that VERY cold day. I threw in a few shots of the other photogs (Misty and Ellie Logan) who were also out there. Enjoy. :)

Katie and Levi were two of the sweetest folks and although the day was very very wet outside, we still were able to catch a little bit of the daylight before it got dark. That's fall weddings for ya. ;) She brought so much grace and beauty with that lace gown by Stella York and her bouquet by My Garden Overfloweth was the perfect compliment to her theme which was full of (my favorite) muted greens and rich fall colors. Katie did much of the designing herself with the help of her mama and I couldn't have been more blown away when I showed up to their reception which happened to be a hopp warehouse turned wedding reception venue. They adorned it with cafe lights and candles everywhere!!! SO so romantic. Congratulations Katie and Levi and many blessings on you both as you begin this new journey together.

Markus grew up on a farm in the little town of Sunnyside, Wa. MY HOME TOWN! When I first met the two of them together their vision for what they wanted made total and complete sense to me. Glam meets country. Yes, they mix and they mix very well. ;)

Kristin on the day of was adorned in a gorgeous mermaid style gown and the two exchanged vows in a Catholic service and partied the night surrounded by their friends and family at a venue provided by a family friend. The warehouse turned wedding venue was absolutely perfect and tied in with the exact feel of what these two wanted from the get go. Cafe lights were strewn across the ceiling and bits of "Kristin and Markus" were displayed through their rustic decor. Lastly they hired a LIVE band, which I always love! So many great shots that day and of course as always, thank you to this bride and groom for having me capture this memorable day.

GOWNS - AMY'S BRIDAL

Almost seven years ago I decided to take the leap and give photography a try. We had just moved to the Tri-City area and this beautiful lady was one of the first people in the family of photographers I now call friends.  Rarely will you see her without a smile and she's that person who's laughter is contagious. Her heart is made of gold and she is leaving her mark wherever she goes. This is my friend Shannon and her baby Saph. :) We don't often get together as much anymore nor do we get in front of the lens, but we thought we'd do something fun with a glam session and oh my! She knocked it out of the park!

Enjoy.

It was finally my turn to get in front of the camera today. I wish I could say we all felt as happy as we looked, but sometimes family means having to love each other even through those not so fun moments. I've learned so much since becoming a mother and grace has been the most important. Not just giving it to them, but also asking for it too sometimes. These guys are my whole world. As I reflect back over this last year there is so much that I am thankful for. I will miss the day when I no longer have a mess to clean up or having to pick up the laundry left in the kid's bathroom. As much as it tires me out, I will indeed miss it. Thank you Lord for another year with all of us together. I'm one blessed woman.

Merry Christmas everyone.

My time meeting these two let me know they were not only "my" couple, but I also knew it would be more than just a wedding. It was going to be a party celebrating their love for one another as well as their love for their friends and family. And boy was I right! Everything about them and their day was continuous laughs, happy tears, and lots of hugs. The guests ended the night showing off their dance moves while Alex busted out his lit shoes. (There's a first time for everything.) ;)

The ceremony was held at the lush Cascade Garden in Yakima, WA. Fall had started to settle in this particular weekend and we almost lost our sunset shots had it not been for a little switch-a-roo of the timeline in order to make it work. These two were SO easy to capture and I often times just let them be so as to just capture the moment. Sometimes you have to do that. ;)

Bella Fiori Gardens, Kennewick, WA

It was 2009 and they were still in high school when he first caught her eye.  Oh how I love young romances that blossom into really great stories. (They think they may have even been in the same daycare together as littles!) Fast forward after several years of dating while finishing school and Jessica pursuing her master's degree, Travis finally proposed while on a trip to Seaside, OR.

Wedding day finally came and let me tell you, their day was absolutely perfect. She made her grand entrance in a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress as her groom watched her glide down the aisle. Sealed with a kiss and these two were finally married! The rest of the evening was filled with lots of laughter, dancing, and a sweet send off in Travis's grandfather's old car that both Travis's grandparents and parents drove off in on their wedding night.  Doesn't get much better than that.

Jessica and Travis, thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your special day. May you have a long and beautiful marriage filled with lots of great moments and memories. xoxo - Terra

When Justin and Angela invited me to their vineyard for their engagement session, it happened to also be in the middle of winter. The cold, bare winter. Fast forward 6 months later and I was looking at an entirely different location. The two worked very hard leading up to their big day by preparing and creating a beautiful venue in the middle of their property. I thought to myself how amazing it was that they had already accomplished so much as a couple and I can only imagine what they'll do now that their married!

Their wedding sat on top of a hill overlooking the gorgeous valley as the sun setit aglow. Angela graced everyone with her beautiful smile and her gown that had ruffles for days! After dinner I whisked the two back into that same vineyard and got to see the funnier sides of them as he joked with and kissed his lovely bride. The evening ended with her hand in his as he lead her on the dance floor to dance the night away. Congratulations Angela and Justin. Cheers to many more years of bliss!
